Ses Illetas

The most remarkable thing about this beach are its calm, shallow waters with turquoise colors that, together with the white sand on the shore, make it a paradisiacal landscape.
It is a beach integrated into an ecosystem of dunes and insular vegetation.
It isn’t only one of the best known and best beaches in Formentera, but it is also considered in most rankings as one of the best beaches in Spain and the world.
There are more than 450 meters of beach that are divided in two due to a small rocky area that is in the middle.
Its access is only free if you do it on foot, by bike or boat, since if you arrive there by car or motorcycle you will have to pay for access (€ 6 Cars / € 4 Motorcycles).

Cala Sahona

Cala Saona is known for being the jewel of the western coast of Formentera, being the only sandy beach that is hidden between the cliffs that are imposed in the entire southwestern part of the island.
There are several ways to reach it. One is by following the paths that go south and that run through the most rural part of the island between pine trees and dry stone walls.
Without a doubt, the best access for a bike ride if you start from the port of La Savina. The other option is by road leaving Sant Francesc in the direction of Cap de Barbaria, where we will find a signposted detour halfway through that heads west. At the end of the asphalt there is a parking lot to leave the vehicle and access the beach easily. The landscapes are the main attraction, there is also a wide variety of activities to practice, such as Paddle Surf, kayaking or snorkeling. In fact, one of the best excursions you can do by rowing from here is to the cliffs of Punta Rasa where some wonderful underwater caves are hidden worth a visit.

Playa Migjorn

It is one of the longest beaches on the island, if not the longest, there are 5 kilometers of paradisiacal beaches that alternate white sand and crystal clear waters with rocks that divide one beach from another, which causes small coves to be produced in some Ideal areas to enjoy with the family, since they have sandy bottoms with little depth, ideal for the safety of children.

These are the most important coves in Migjorn:

  • Cala d'es Mort
  • Es Cupinà
  • It's Arenals
  • Ca Marí
  • It's Mal Pas

To access this part of the island, you simply have to take one of its many detours to the south on the main road, once you have passed the town of Sant Ferran in the direction of La Mola.
In this area we find a great variety of beach restaurants, Beach club and beach bars, we show you the most authentic beach bars on the island:

Bartolo Kiosk

Located near Cala d'Es Cupinà and Cala d'Es Mort. It has a reduced food menu (spaghetti, very good homemade hamburgers, sandwiches) you can also refresh yourself with a sangria or a mojito with exceptional views. Open all year long.

Pirata Bus

It is an iconic beach bar in Formentera, in the 70s it was a bus renovated as a beach bar and today it is made of wood but it has not lost its hippie essence. With good background music, it is a very popular meeting point for people from all over the world, enjoying the day at the beach with fresh drinks and good tapas and at dusk a magical sunset with good background music. You should know that if you stay in the Migjorn beach area you should rent a car or motorcycle, since it is a natural area and services such as a supermarket, restaurants ... etc may be far from the accommodation, it is not the most touristy area but it is the wildest and natural.
